Dr. Miller completed his predoctoral internship at the CU School of Medicine, where he trained in primary care psychology and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. He has been principal investigator on federal grants, state contracts, and foundation grants focused on integrating behavioral health and primary care. He is a technical expert panelist on the AHRQ Innovations Exchange, member of the International Advisory Board of the British Journal of General Practice, past president of the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association, and faculty member for the IHI and the CMMI Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative (CPCI) program. Dr. Miller consults on clinical, operational and financial components of integrating mental health and primary care, as well as the policy implications for these models.
