Reginaldo Garcia, PhD

Dr. Garcia has enjoyed careers in clinical and consulting psychology, educational administration, and public health research. His research interests encompass community-based participatory research, explanations of good health among disadvantaged persons, explanations of poor health among persons of means, interaction of public health and personal variables in health outcomes, and increasing peoples’ priorty on prevention chocies over reliance on treatment. His current work with the RMPRC has been focused on the NIH-funded CCTSI project, a population-based survey of adult health factors in the six-county area of the SLV in southern Colorado. In this community-based participatory research project, he worked with a large number of partner/stakeholder organizations in the planning and implementation of the survey.
